Sustainability Division 10 of 10

Turn retired devices into asettlement, not a disposal line.

Enterprise device recovery, retail trade-in infrastructure, and bulk smartphone purchasing, with grading, pricing, and settlement defined before anything is collected.

Trade-in programmes fail at the grade, and everyone involved knows it before they start.

A device is quoted at one grade on the counter and settled at a lower one in the warehouse. The customer disputes it, the store manager stops promoting the programme, and within a quarter the trade-in line is dead even though the economics were sound.

Connex publishes the grade scale and locks a price grid for an agreed window before collection begins. Counter staff quote from the same grid we settle against, so the number the customer heard is the number that pays.

Capabilities

What the division does.

01

Enterprise recovery

Fleet refresh and decommissioning handled as a scheduled programme, with recovered value applied against replacement hardware.

02

Retail trade-in infrastructure

Counter workflow, grading aids, staff training, and quoting tools so a trade-in takes minutes rather than a judgement call.

03

Published grade scale

One written standard for cosmetic and functional condition, used at the counter and in the warehouse alike.

04

Locked price grid

Prices fixed by model and grade for an agreed window, so the quote does not move between the counter and settlement.

05

Bulk purchasing

Volume smartphone and tablet purchasing for operators and recyclers holding recovered stock.

06

Data sanitization

Erasure to standard on every unit received, with certification issued, so a trade-in is not a data incident.

Process

Five stages, each with an output you can see.

  • Programme design

Volume, device mix, channel, and settlement basis agreed, and the grade scale issued to your team.

  • Price grid

Prices locked by model and grade for the agreed window, published to the counter or to your asset team.

  • Collection or trade-in

Devices taken in at the counter or collected on schedule, quoted against the grid at the point of handover.

  • Grading and audit

Units graded against the published scale, sanitized to standard, and variances against the counter quote reported per unit.

  • Settlement

Paid on the agreed basis with a statement per unit, showing quoted grade, assessed grade, and price applied.

Grading and pricing standard

The counter quotes from the grid we settle against.

One published grade scale, one price grid, locked for the agreed window. Where our assessed grade differs from the counter grade, the variance is reported per unit with the reason rather than netted into a lump settlement. A programme that cannot survive that level of transparency was never going to survive a quarter of store manager scepticism either.

FAQ

Questions programme owners actually ask.

Grading aids and training, plus per-unit variance reporting that shows which locations drift. It becomes a coaching problem rather than an argument at settlement.

They move to parts harvest or certified recycling through our recovery division, with the disposition recorded per unit.

Yes, and that is usually the cleanest structure on an enterprise refresh — settlement applied against the replacement order rather than paid out separately.

Every unit is sanitized to the agreed standard on receipt with certification issued. Custody transfers on the signed receipt, and units that fail erasure are physically destroyed.

At the end of each agreed window. Prices are not adjusted inside a window, because a grid that moves mid-window is not a grid.

Price a programme.

Device mix, volume, and channel is enough for us to issue a grade scale and a price grid.
