Commerce & Supply Division 03 of 10
Graded lots, publishedmanifests, defined claim terms.
Closeout, overstock, customer returns, and refurbished inventory sold by the lot — with the grading standard and the manifest in front of you before you commit, not after the pallet arrives.
Liquidation goes wrong at the grade, not at the price.
A buyer accepts a lot described as B-grade, receives something closer to C, and has no route to argue because the grade was never defined in writing. That single failure is why most secondary-market buyers price in a discount for risk and why most sellers get less than the goods are worth.
Connex publishes the grading standard, manifests every lot at the line level, and puts a claim window in the terms. The result is that both sides price the goods rather than pricing the uncertainty.
Capabilities
What the division does.
Manifested lots
Every lot listed at line level: model, quantity, grade, and known faults, published before the lot is offered.
Published grade scale
A single written standard applied to every category, so a B in one lot means the same as a B in the next.
Closeout and overstock
End-of-line, discontinued, and excess inventory cleared for brands, distributors, and retailers.
Returns processing
Customer returns triaged, tested, and regraded into resale, refurbishment, parts harvest, or certified recycling.
Refurbishment to grade
Units repaired and reprocessed to a named grade rather than sold as untested mixed stock.
Seller-side recovery
Surplus taken on purchase or on consignment, with a settlement statement showing what each line realised.
Process
Five stages, each with an output you can see.
Intake and count
Goods received, counted against your declaration, and reconciled before anything is graded.
Test and grade
Units tested and graded against the published standard, with faults recorded per line.
Manifest
Lot built and manifested at line level, with grade mix and known faults stated up front.
Offer and allocation
Lot published to the buyer base at buy-now or by bid, and allocated on accepted terms.
Settlement
Proceeds reconciled per line and settled on the agreed split, with the statement issued to the seller.
Grading standard
The grade is written down before the lot is offered.
Cosmetic condition, functional condition, completeness, and known faults are recorded per line and published in the manifest. Buyers get a claim window from delivery to raise a variance against the manifest. Sellers get a settlement statement showing what each line actually realised, not a single lump figure.
Commercial terms
Published, not withheld.
| Term | Standard position | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Grading | Published scale applied to every lot | Cosmetic and functional condition recorded separately. |
| Manifest | Line level, issued before offer | Known faults stated; untested stock labelled as untested. |
| Claims | Defined window from delivery | Raised against the manifest, not against expectation. |
| Minimum lot | Varies by category | Mixed pallets built to reach a workable minimum. |
| Shipping | LTL and full truckload | Buyer collection accepted on agreed lots. |
| Settlement | Purchase or consignment split | Consignment settled per line against realised value. |
FAQ
Questions buyers and sellers actually ask.
The scale is published and applies across categories. It records cosmetic condition and functional condition separately, because a scratched unit that works and a clean unit that does not are not the same product.
Manifests are published at line level before the lot is offered, and inspection can be arranged on larger lots.
Raise a claim inside the stated window. The manifest is the reference point, which is the reason it exists.
Both. Outright purchase is faster and certain; consignment usually realises more and is settled per line.
They move to parts harvest or certified recycling through our recovery division, with the disposition recorded rather than assumed.
